Frequently Asked Questions

What types of services do you offer?

I offer hair and makeup services for all occasions.  Check out my portfolio and see if something speaks to you. The links are located on the home page.

How much do you charge?

I provide a wide range of services so prices vary accordingly.

What type of hair and make up products do you use?

I use the highest quality, professional grade makeup and hair products.  To me there is no such thing as one perfect brand so I use a combination of products to create amazing looks.  Some of the brands include Paul Mitchell, Deva Curl, Biolage, Make Up Forever, Bobbi Brown, MAC Pro, Inglot, Nars, Urban Decay, Cover Fx, and Xtreme Lashes just to name a few.  I also sanitize every brush after use and use disposable applicators whenever possible.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. I do require a deposit for all services before an appointment can be scheduled.  For Bridal Party hair and make up I require a signed contract and deposit prior to scheduling your session.  If you cancel within 24 hours of the day you booked your session you will receive 100% of your deposit back.  After 24 hours the deposit is nonrefundable.

If you schedule a next day session your deposit is nonrefundable because of the 24 hour booking and cancelation policy.  I only book a max of two sessions per day because I enjoy giving everyone undivided attention without feeling rushed.

Do you travel?

Yes.  I operate an on location beauty concierge service so I come to you. There will be a $0.60 per mile travel fee for beauty sessions 20 miles or 30 minutes outside of San Diego City's 92123 zip code radius.  For destination weddings all travel cost will be covered by the hiring party.

What should I do to prepare for my session?

Hair and skin should be cleaned and ready to receive service upon arrival.  Old lashes should be removed.  If I have to remove makeup or lashes there may be an additional fee.  Hair that is not clean will not be styled.

Is a consultation necessary?

Not for every occasion, however I require brides to have a face to face consultation and makeup pre run at least a prior to their big day.  It makes the whole day run smoother and takes stress off of the bride because there is no need to "wonder what her make up will look like".  The bridal party does not have to participate in the consultation.

All hair appointments require a consultation to determine if hair is healthy enough to perform desired service.  My goal is to help maintain or improve your hair health and help you to grow your hair.  Everyone's hair cannot handle every style.  With a consultation we can determine what's best for you and your hair.

What if I don't wear a lot of makeup?

Most people don't wear a full face of makeup everyday so that's not a problem.  I customize the makeup application to fit what you are comfortable with.  I will make professional recommendations but at the end it's all about you, what you want, and what makes you feel comfortable.  You are the reason I am here.

Why hire a professional?

Having someone who is licensed, insured, and professionally trained is very important.  Drug store make up has come a very long way and I have seen some amazing faces made with some of those brands but most are not compatible with HD and flash photography.  Even though your face may be amazing in natural light sometime the flash back can make you appear ashy or pale in professional photos.   Education, training, and experience come into play when making sure we chose the right products and formula for the occasion.

What advice would you give other beauty professionals?

Never accept a job your skill set cannot deliver on.  It s perfectly ok to say no but always explain why.  People will be more appreciative of you honestly than they will every be of a bad beauty session.  Do not allow  yourself to be pressured into something if you feel uncomfortable.  It saves your reputation.  It helps you to avoid providing a bad service to someone.  It helps credibility everyone in the beauty industry.

Our job is it make people feel good.  We should do everything in our power to make sure that happens.
